The petrified Ash trees are all cut, split, and in the wood shed. These 2 trees ended up to be 3 full long bed truckloads split and stacked in the bed up to the roof like we usually do. The only thing is if they were live Ash trees we would have at least 7 or more truckloads in the same amount of time, but we are having trouble finding good dry wood...
Next Monday we are going to the farm and taking down a huge dead Maple tree, hopefully it will be easier.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
I can't see the forest for the trees.

Ah come on GT, it will make you feel young again. You too Nappy. I agree that nothing is better heat than a good hot wood stove. Saves a lot of money too.

Dad has been keeping pretty up with me and he will be 86 next week, he says it makes him sleep good.
The Maple wasn't as petrified as the Ash, but it still took all day to get a little over a load. We came back here for lunch and unloaded some of it then went back and loaded all we could. There's still about little less than half a load left that will all have to be split with wedges in the morning. And we still have to unload tonight.

I think that is the secret Glenn, but it sure hurts sometimes.
I'll pass that along to dad in the morning and thank you! Time is slipping by, looked at the calendar and his birthday is this Thursday.
