AJ WH Ranger wrote: My 11 year old son came to me last week and asked "When are you going to teach me how to grill". I jumped at that chance, what 11 year old now-a-days wants to learn how to grill?

So the first thing he wanted to do was hamburgers. He made his own lunch and made the rest of us dinner that night. He did pretty well.

Then he wanted to learn to grill steak. Yes..... So that night he made the entire dinner on the grill. It turned out very well. I was proud of him.

Sorry the picture isn't very presentable but that was his plate he took a picture of, he was also very proud of himself.

AJ it looks like you're teaching him well. Learning to grill is a true rite of passage to manhood!

Amidst the snow showers today I managed to come up with mesquite grilled chicken halves and a fresh loaf of butter topped sourdough bread with mixed veggies on the side!

Here are some old cast iron cookware the neighbour gave us before he passed away. We only just recently got around to getting it out of hiding. It was sandblasted a few weeks ago. Nothing beats cooking in cast iron. ^-^

Last Saturday I double seasoned it. Second seasoning was with bacon of course.

Today for lunch I made us some home made corn dogs. Half a hot dog fits perfectly in the corn stick pan.

The corny dogs were really good, and now I know why everything cooked in those pans tastes like bacon. :rolling3
