Hi all, brought an original raider 10 home yesterday, seems to be okay, no smoke, no engine noise, no dents, original paint, original seat with no tears or frayed spots Someone put big ATV tires on the rear but the original wheel horse tires came with it, and they are like new. Front tires are worn out. Got a lot of cleaning to do before I know exactly what I want to do with it. Came with an very good condition, attached mower with a few very minor rust spots which I will sell soon. Yes, it has a Tecumseh engine, and I would like opinions on the engine and the entire machine. M# 1 6051 S# 723044, I believe this means that it was made in '72, am I correct? I thought they went to the kohler in 72, but that change may have taken place sometime during that year (?). Any and a comments are welcome as I would like to know more about this tractor Thanks.

Ya wasn't most raider 10s techys? Then the 12s and 14s were kohler. Or were they just for a couple years?

Its too bad that isn't the big block. In my opinion the big blocks were the best engines techy made. But at least its an HH. ( horizontal heavy duty) so its cast iron.

From what I read, the Raider 10 changed to the kohler in 1972 (tractor data) and it was still the raider 10. If the engine was 12/14 hp, wouldn't it be a raider 12 or 14? Justin, what is considered big block? Thanks Gene, thought it was a '72 but glad it is a couple of years older. Thanks for the answers and info everybody, I'm still trying to learn. I'll try to get some pictures when we get some better weather. Any and all comments, good or bad, are welcome, Thanks

Yep raider 12 and raider 14. I have a 12. A big block is identifyed by a B in the model number. The blocks are bigger and a little thicker. Making them a lot stronger.
