Hey guys found this on craigslist and was wondering if anyone could give me some info on it. He says its a '41 but I know thats wrong since Pond didn't even start until 1948. Is it a 600 series tractor? he said he has the original motor witch is not the on pictured and a 36 inch deck (no idea what shape its in). What do you guys think the max I should pay for it considering its condition. He said 500 starting price but I thought that was too much. PS. he doesn't know if the transmission is good, but the original engine is free and working on engines is right up my alley so I'm not worried about that. Thanks!

Could be a 60 Suburban. The missing belt guard is a pricey item. The last one sold on eBay for almost 200.00. :doh

That wouldn't be too big a deal for me. I suppose that would go for an advantage in buying it. Just based on the pics, what would you pay for it?

A big factor also is how rotten is it, especially the hood. Good hoods for those are near impossible to find also. Fenders are easy to find as they were used on many models.

If i had one in my hand i could make a exact copy for way less that has no rust,
or i could just design one that works and looks like what i think it would looked like.
but anyway it could be made up with aluminized steel so it would last and paint easy.
i got the brake and jump shear just need a pattern or the tractor
its funny i needed a different guard before and posted a question if anyone a drawing of a original one but no one did,
but people did have guards to sell,
ebay needs more draftsmen & craftsmen and less resellers

I paid $500 for this one and it's all there and came with a deck. It's just not painted correctly

I would say no more then $100 for that one at the most. It's worth more in parts then as it is just my 2cents

Ok well I'll tell him that nicely. I doubt he will do it though, like I said he started it at 500 but was taking offers. We'll see.

Well looks like I'm not getting this one. Oh well, maybe there's something else out there I can get for an actually decent price. Thanks for the help.
