JUST BECAUSE SOMEBODY WROTE IT, DON'T MAKE IT RIGHT.
Best bacon?? was created by kudzu
Big discussion this AM over breakfast as to what is the best bacon. I like the thick, hammy type (rare), my wife likes the thin wrinkly kind (crispy), so, I say that the best bacon for me wouldn't be the best bacon for her. Okay, I guess we agree on that. I told her that I had knowledge of a bacon expert and can get an answer to our dilemma very soon. The look I got was almost scary. Okay, bacon expert(s), what do you consider the best, all 'round, grocery store bacon?

Best oil is easy. We're the same way Tommy, I like the thick lightly cooked, she likes the thin and really crispy.

I prefer mine thick sliced and salt cured, just like grandma used to make in her smoke house, served up with white gravy, homemade biscuits, butter and apple butter and a glass of buttermilk on the side!. Wish I could cook like that!
